Pin-Up Crazy!

Continuing in my vintage phase Ive been working on some new pin-up designs for The Goods, so on my search for inspiration i came across a rather comical but still hot pin-up art. The artist behind these pieces is American Pop Artist, Mel Ramos, which is famous for his 1960′s paintings of Pin-up calendars and magazines. His work is humorous as he often poses the women with large, out-of place objects and gives the paintings amusing titles ( AC Annie, Lola Cola ). His work can also be described as Superrealism. Here are a few of his works then hit the link after the jump to see more!

Photography: Helmut Newton

While reading this book at Books-A-Million a huge book set by itself in the corner on the floor. By its very intriguing cover (above) i had to see what it was, little did i know that i was going discover one of the world's greatest Photographers, Helmut Newton! He was a prolific & widely imitated German-Australian fashion photographer whose provocative, erotically charged black-and-white photos were a mainstay of Vogue and other publications. If u knew who he was before this, "why da hell didnt u tell me?!?!" lol but seriously his classic but very racy style is almost like seeing the wild side of high class living, the things we fantasize about....but i digress just check a few of his photographs and discover him for yourself after the JUMP!
